Are you tired of stick-straight and flat hair? Instead of wasting time curling your hair every morning, waking up with voluminous and wavy hair ready to go is no longer a dream. As Baby Face Hair Salon, we reinterpret the iconic perm trend of the past with today’s modern techniques and bio-technological products that protect hair health. Whether defined curls or natural beach waves; we design the wave form best suited to your facial features and style with our expert team, giving your hair permanent movement.
Perm (Permanent Wave) is the process of permanently shaping the hair using chemical and thermal processes. This process is based on temporarily breaking the sulfur bonds inside the hair and restructuring them to take the shape of the roller wrapped around the hair. The old-fashioned “excessively frizzy and damaged” perm look is now history. Thanks to the new generation solutions used today, it is possible to achieve soft, shiny, and natural-looking curls without disrupting the natural structure of the hair.
At Baby Face, we do not offer a one-size-fits-all perm application, but different techniques tailored to your needs:
Ideal for those who want defined and tight curls. It gives the hair intense curliness.
A method using larger rollers to create a natural wave and movement in the hair. Perfect for those looking for a “beach wave” look.
Applied only to the hair roots without touching the lengths and ends, aiming to add extra volume to flat hair roots.
The process begins with a detailed hair analysis. Your hair’s health, past treatments, and elasticity are checked by our experts. Hair is washed with a purifying shampoo to clean chemical residues. Then, your hair is wrapped with rollers selected according to the desired wave density. A perm solution suitable for your hair type is applied, and the processing time begins. After the solution takes effect, the hair is rinsed, and a “neutralizing” stabilizer is applied. Finally, the rollers are removed, the hair is rinsed, and the final shape is given by drying with a diffuser.
Your care routine is important to extend the life of the perm and protect hair health. You should not wash your hair or tie it tightly with a clip for the first 48 hours after the procedure; this time is critical for the curls to set. Afterwards, you must use sulfate-free shampoos and moisturizing creams special for curly hair. Instead of rubbing your hair harshly with a towel while drying, you should gently remove the moisture and, if possible, dry it using a diffuser attachment. Using wide-tooth combs prevents the curl form from being distorted.
Perm is a savior especially for people with fine, volumeless, and flat hair. It provides great time savings for those tired of constantly applying blow-dry or curling iron processes to their hair. However, the perm process may be risky for people whose hair has recently undergone intense lightening processes (such as platinum blonde) or is excessively damaged. Therefore, Baby Face experts strictly perform a test strand analysis before the procedure and honestly decide whether your hair is suitable for this process.
Perm is a delicate process requiring experience and technical knowledge. Incorrect product use or incorrect processing times can cause hair to burn. As Baby Face Hair Salon, we use special perm series from world-renowned brands that contain minimal ammonia and nourish the hair. By determining the roller thickness best suited to your face shape, we promise natural waves that look completely “like yours,” not “artificial.”
No, when done by professional hands and with the right products, a perm does not burn the hair. Old-type perm solutions could dry out the hair, but the new generation, nourishing solutions we use at Baby Face protect the hair’s moisture balance. Still, like any chemical process, it may dry the hair slightly, so we recommend moisturizing care after the procedure.
The permanence of the perm varies between 3 to 6 months on average, depending on the hair type, roller thickness used, and hair growth speed. As the hair grows, your natural hair comes from the roots, while the waves at the ends turn into a softer form and loosen over time.
Yes, a perm can be done on dyed hair. However, if your hair has intense lightening processes (bleach) such as highlights or ombre, the hair’s elasticity might be weakened. In this case, our experts analyze your hair and decide whether the process is safe. If your hair is very damaged, we may recommend strengthening the hair with keratin care first and then doing the perm.
The perm process takes between 2 and 3 hours on average, depending on the length and thickness of the hair. This time includes wrapping the hair, waiting times for solutions, and rinsing/styling stages.
It is not recommended to dye hair immediately after a perm process. We recommend waiting at least 2 weeks for the hair to recover and the chemical process to fully settle. This way, your hair is not damaged, and the color holds healthier.
Yes, you can have your permed hair blow-dried or straightened whenever you want. When you wash it, your hair will return to its curly form. However, applying high heat too frequently may shorten the life of the curls.
Yes, to extend the life of the process, we recommend using sulfate-free (salt-free) shampoos and series special for curly hair (curl defining). These products protect the hair’s moisture and ensure curls are more defined.
Perm prices vary according to the length and density of your hair and the technique to be used (classic, beach wave, etc.). We welcome you to our salon for a coffee for the most accurate price information and hair analysis.
Since hormone balances change during pregnancy, the hold of chemical processes may change, and smell sensitivity may occur. We do not recommend having chemical processes done without your doctor’s approval and during the first 3 months of pregnancy.
